The European Bulk Oil Traders' Association (EBOTA) was formally established in December 2011. Its purpose is to engage, for and on behalf of its members, in issues impacting the bulk trading of oil liquids, petrochemicals, biofuels, LNG, LPG and other refined products, feedstocks and associated derivatives. These can range from assessing the impact of new regulation and operational matters to engaging with regulators and policy makers.
Following the success of the first workshop held in London in November 2012, EBOTA and The REACH Centre delivered another well-attended event in Geneva on 13 and 14 February 2013.
The REACH Centre's Regulatory experts Simon Brearley (Director) and Sandra Meijer (Head of Supply Chain and Chemicals Management Services) led the 2-day workshop, which was attended by representatives from mainly Swiss-based EBOTA members.
The workshop focused on key technical and supply chain issues faced by EU-based and non-EU bulk oil traders as a result of the REACH and CLP regulations.
Very positive feedback was received from the training, below are two comments received from attendees:
"The session was very useful to us and I would like to convey our thanks for taking on the challenge and delivering a well structured and informative session."
"I attended the EBOTA REACH Workshop in Geneva and I really enjoyed it. I would like to acquire more knowledge in the subject so as to be able to specialize in the REACH implications/possible problems on a commercial point of view. Therefore I would like to also attend The REACH Centre UK courses." Virginie Vernay - LITASCO SA
