Siobhan Murphy - Scientific Consultant Siobhan graduated from Lancaster University in 2009 with a degree in Earth and Environmental Science from the Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC). She has recently completed an MSc in Contaminated Land and Remediation, also with LEC. Her background covers environmental science, geology, risk assessment, toxicology and environmental radioactivity. Siobhan joined The REACH Centre in September 2010. |
| Dr. Lisa Pizzol - Scientific and Technical Advisor, The REACH Centre Italia Lisa is a doctor in Environmental Science. Her research interests are in spatial risk assessment of contaminated sites both at site-specific and regional scale, and the implementation of the developed methodologies within GIS-based decision support system (SDSS). She has experiences in statistical and geostatistical analyses. She is a member of SETAC Europe and NICOLE. Lisa is based in our Venice offices. | |
![]() | Cherrie Whiteley – PhD Student Lancaster University Cherrie is currently undertaking a PhD in Environmental Science at Lancaster University investigating an ‘Effective Modelling Framework for Environmental and Risk Management of Nanotechnologies’. This is an EPSRC Industrial CASE Studentship, awarded to The REACH Centre in partnership with the Centre for Chemicals Management at Lancaster Environment Centre. Cherrie will be based between The REACH Centre and Lancaster University offices, under the supervision of Prof. Kevin C Jones and Dr. Andy Sweetman. Cherrie previously worked in the banking industry involved in eProcurement, compliance and regulation before completing a Masters degree in 2008 at Lancaster University, in Environmental Science. Following this she worked at The REACH Centre co-ordinating public funded and UK regional government projects and supporting the long-term service provision for chemical safety assessments and reports (CSA/CSR). | ![]() | Dr. Alex Paul - Regulatory and Scientific Consultant Alex holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry and an MSc in Waste Science and Management, both from Lancaster University. His previous research revolved around persistent chemical pollutants, and focused on mathematically modelling their environmental fate and behaviour in order to estimate their sources, emission tonnages and environmental exposure. Alex joined The REACH Centre in April 2011 to provide regulatory and scientific support to a wide range of clients. |
![]() | Dr. Neil Hunt - Regulatory and Technical Consultant Dr Neil Hunt was a development chemist with over 10 years' experience in both the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals sector, working for SAFC Pharma and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. His area of expertise was the design and safe transfer of chemical processes to pilot-plant scale (>2000L) including process risk assessment and project management. He has a PhD in Chemistry from Bristol University in the area of ligand design and a degree in Chemistry with Industrial Experience, also from Bristol University.
